2025 is the year to bid adieu to 2024's quiet luxury, oversized silhouettes, and minimalist mindset and celebrate the return of loud luxury, feminine silhouettes, and maximalism. The runways in 2024 gave a sneak peek at what 2025 would bring and it seems that individuality reigned influential among the great luxury houses.

Personal style is on the rise once again, so wardrobes will reflect what people have been yearning for. Trends will come and go as 2025 moves along, but the theme is you. Taking some time to reminisce about the style of 2024, the overview shows that the biggest trend was emulating celebrities' styles from Hailey Bieber's jeans and leather jacket/blazer combo to Charli XCX's brat green. It was a time when losing yourself in someone else's style seemed like a form of self-expression, but in doing so, fashion lost all sense of the word.

The new year brings a refreshing reminder of what fashion is, a way to express yourself and applaud your singularity, as cliché as that sounds. Keep scrolling to read more about the trends that L'OFFICIEL expects will dominate 2025.

Dreamy, pastel hues like baby pink, pistachio, and butter yellow define a soft romance aesthetic currently taking shape. On the runways, soft powder pink emerged as a key player, replacing burgundy as this season’s dominant hue. This light, airy pink is set to add a fresh and fabulous touch to your wardrobe. Meanwhile, butter yellow, so pale it almost appears cream under certain lights, has taken over as the new neutral. It’s a chic, shiny alternative to beige and brown, instantly brightening any outfit.

Pistachio, a more verdant take on last year’s pastel trend, is one to watch as well. This muted green is feeling especially fresh, as celebrities like Cynthia Erivo embraced the creamy green color during her Wicked press tour and it’s swiftly becoming a red-carpet favorite. The soft, magical quality of pistachio, much like Glinda’s ethereal style, is enchanting everyone.

Boho chic is getting a modern, edgy update this season. After making waves at Chloé’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, the trend has influenced street style and celebrity looks alike. While flowing skirts and intricate lace continue to evoke an early 2000s vibe, fashion lovers are putting their own spin on the classic aesthetic. Boho’s delicate charm is now being paired with moto-inspired elements like chunky leather handbags, moto boots, and studded details. This fusion, known as moto boho, was evident at Isabel Marant’s Spring/Summer 2025 show that blended the free-spirited essence of boho with the bold, rebellious edge of motocore.

Say goodbye to those pointed-toe stilettos because peep-toe heels are making the rounds. Spring/Summer 2025 collections left no doubt about the shoe's revival, with designers like Prada and Tory Burch showcasing their interpretations. Khaite offered a modern twist with round-toe glove pumps subtly split down the center to reveal a glimpse of skin, while Tory Burch opted for cutouts at the big toe. Meanwhile, Miu Miu and Prada channeled Y2K nostalgia, reviving silhouettes reminiscent of the trend’s heyday, including re-issuing Prada designs from Fall/Winter 2008. Adding to its cultural momentum, celebrities like SNL star Chloe Fineman have been spotted wearing the style.

Chocolate brown continues to reign as a timeless and sophisticated staple hue. The hue itself is a go-to for chilly weather, and last year was championed by Miu Miu and Stella McCartney. No wonder it's so popular—chocolate brown is timeless and versatile, combining the sophistication of black with a warm, inviting undertone for an effortlessly luxurious feel. This year, its presence is set to evolve with an exciting new twist. Enter Mocha Mousse, Pantone’s color of the year, a lighter yet equally luxurious take on the chocolate hues that have dominated recent seasons. It's perfect for spring and summer, this updated shade exudes elegance with a fresh, airy feel.

Hats are having a major moment, with statement styles topping off looks everywhere from runways to street style. Rihanna set the tone late last year by reviving the '90s furry hat, pairing bold textures with her signature style. Meanwhile, pillbox hats are making a nostalgic comeback, offering a '60s-like touch that evokes Jackie O. Whether you're embracing the playful spirit of oversized fuzz or the refined charm of classic silhouettes, this season’s headwear proves that hats are no longer just an accessory. They're a centerpiece.

It's not just about more logos being evident, but there are also daring prints and exaggerated textures dominating, marking a stark departure from understated elegance of years past. As stars like Jennifer Lopez and Hailey Bieber step out in getups with maximalist flair, they're inspiring others to put on clothes meant to be seen.

Oversized clothes will still be popular in 2025, but particular attention is being paid to the midline. Silhouettes this year are trending towards cinched and snatched waists. Achieve this with fitted coats, blazers, corsets, and accessories like waist belts. It’s a playful twist that'll also help elevate casual-leaning looks.

Jeans are one of the most worn items in any wardrobe, and there’s a lot to choose from when it comes to denim. But of all styles and silhouettes (like straight, boyfriend, bootcut, wide leg, and skinny jeans) It’s '70s-inspired denim coming back. Suki Waterhouse helped boost this as she appeared in flared legs the other day. Barrel-leg jeans continue to be popular and very comfortable. Skinny jeans are also making a comeback in 2025, though quieter.
