All the Best Fashion Moments From the 2022 Emmys Red Carpet
Some of the night's big winners included Zendaya, Lizzo, and more.
The 2022 Primetime Emmy Awards returned to Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater to honor the brightest stars in TV. The gala ceremony was hosted by none other than Saturday Night Live’s Kenan Thompson and was filled with historic moments, unforgettable speeches, and major fashion statements.
Starting things off, Oprah Winfrey presented the first award, but not before opening with a speech about the importance of not giving up when you are knocked down, referencing some of Hollywood’s most distinguished members for their careers in their industry. Later, Sheryl Lee Ralph became the first Black woman to win Supporting Actress in a comedy series for her role in Abbot Elementary. Ralph took the stage and sang Diange Reeves’ “Endangered Species,” earning her a standing ovation.
Zendaya once again took home the Emmy statuette for Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role in Euphoria, making her the youngest two-time Emmy winner in history. In 2020, Zendaya became the youngest winner in the category for her performance in the first season of Euphoria. The actress accepted her award in a gorgeous black strapless gown by Maison Valentino, making a statement of Old Hollywood charm, the very definition of sophistication.
Later, Lizzo became one step closer to EGOT status when her reality competition show, Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, earned her an award after just one season. The singer took the stage in a voluminous cherry red tulle gown by Giambattista Valli Haute Couture, and dedicated win award to the “big grrrls.”
In celebration of the show's exciting wins and hilarious moments, let's look back at some of the best looks from the 2022 Emmys red carpet.
