Emily Ratajkowski Proves Diamonds Are Still a Girl's Best Friend, Redesigns Ring from Ex
The actress and model ingeniously reuses the diamonds from her engagement ring, almost two years after her split from ex-husband Sebastian Bear-McClard.
Nearly two years after her split from ex-husband Sebastian Bear-McClard, Emily Ratajkowski decided not to let her engagement ring gather dust and repurposed it with spirit. Yesterday, the 32-year-old model revealed on her Instagram two new diamond rings on two separate fingers, explaining how and why she made some important changes to her jewelry. With the help of her engagement ring jeweler, Alison Lou, Ratajkowski figured out how to repurpose her double-diamond Toi et Moi engagement ring.
In this post, we see her lying in bed proudly displaying her two new rings, and wearing natural makeup. She holds up two fingers, revealing that she managed to transform her original engagement ring into two separate pieces of jewelry. “Divorce rings,” she says in the caption with photos of her new jewelry. “We made the original two-stone engagement ring that started the trend,” added jeweler Alison on her own Instagram. “Here we go again @emrata Divorce Rings."
Many women choose to redesign their engagement rings. Some get divorced and now wear a "divorce ring" like Emrata, and others redesign their ring if the original engagement ring style does not fit in with the style they wear ten, twenty years into their marriage.
Emily Ratajkowski and Sebastian Bear-McClard, 36, got engaged and married in 2018. They welcomed their son Sylvester in March 2021 and separated in July 2022 after four years of marriage. Emily has since spoken very frankly about her separation, her husband's deceptions, her difficulties in overcoming this ordeal, including mental and physical distress it caused. Since then, she has been spotted with many acquaintances rumored to be her new partners, including personalities like Brad Pitt, Orazio Rispo, Pete Davidson, Harry Styles, Jack Greer, Eric André, Eli Bronfman and Stéphane Bak. With this recent post, she seems to prove that she has moved beyond being ordeal, paving the way for divorced women to accept their old failed romances and proudly reuse their wedding rings in new ways.
