Dior x Birkenstock: High Fashion's Favorite Street Shoe
Versatility meets design in an unexpected (and extraordinary) collaboration.
Dior begins a new (and iconic) chapter in its timeless story, this time partnering with Birkenstock for the first time and presenting two reimagined models. Such an unexpected collaboration is generating great expectations for being the perfect conjunction between comfort and elegance. Another great asset is the ease of combining them thanks to the neutrality of their tones.
The two models are the Tokio mules and the Milano sandals from Birkenstock with their anatomically shaped cork-latex insole. They are dressed respectively in felt and suede, tinted with the colors of the season and Dior grey.
It's no secret that Monsieur Dior had a great passion for gardening, in fact, his love for nature led him to create beautiful designs from botanical anatomy (some inspired by flowers such as tulips). This collection emerges as a tribute to that connection with a functional style thanks to the rubber details and industrial buckles. The emblematic item of the saddlebag gives a magical result. Likewise, the soles of these objects combine Dior's oblique motif with the characteristic pattern of the German brand.
An exceptional version embroidered with delicate flowers from the Vermont ateliers completes, as the last surprise, the cut silhouettes of the show: a new symbol of Christian Dior's love of nature. A contemporary ode to function and elegance.
The launch is expected in the second half of 2022. Until now, it is unknown (although there are suspicions) if it will be a limited edition.
