Cillian Murphy Is The New Face of Versace
The Oppenheimer actor follows his incredible award show season with an ambassadorship at Versace.
Following his celebrated Oscar win, Cillian Murphy is now the new face of Versace. This past Sunday at the Academy Awards, the actor donned a custom-designed Versace suit inspired by the brand's vintage archives. He was also previously seen in Versace on the GQ March 2024 cover. The brand also recently announced Cillian Murphy as the first men's face of their new everyday capsule collection, Versace Icons. The line also featured his Dark Knight Rises co-star Anne Hathaway last spring.
This ambassadorship is an interesting move for Murphy, as he tends to shy away from the public eye outside of his work in films. However, Oppenheimer's whirlwind press tour caused Murphy to gain a rather large amount of attention for his style, making a partnership with a global fashion brand a smart choice. Some of Murphy's best ensembles during his Oppenheimer press tour include the Prada shirt and tie and the Thomas Bird London shoes he wore to the Paris premiere of the film. Other street-style looks he fashioned recently were also incredibly fashionable, leading us to understand why he'd take part in a luxury capsule collection.
“I am thrilled that Cillian is joining the Versace family,” said Donatella Versace in a statement. “He is a truly exceptional actor and totally deserves his Oscar win. He is magnetic and mesmerizing in front of a camera, and I loved seeing him bring Versace to life.”
