Chrome Hearts Jewelry Finally Comes With Pearls
Explore the limited-edition Chrome Hearts x Mikimoto collection featuring baroque-style pearl jewelry with a punk rock flair, available only at select stores.
Chrome Hearts is known for its unique aesthetic, defined by a sort of baroque look with a punk-ish, rock 'n' roll flair. Its latest collaboration, however, infuses a softer touch. The American brand linked up with Japanese jeweler Mikimoto to debut 11 new, high-end pieces.
The collection spans five earrings across drop and stud styles, a pendant, a bracelet, a brooch, and three necklaces (including a gorgeously balanced lariat). The Mikimoto Chrome Hearts collection ranges from $6,000 for the pearl brooch to $33,000 for an Akoya Pearl Necklace. In addition to the core items, there are a total of four delicately hand-worked pieces: Each one is two-of-a-kind. These items are available to purchase exclusively at Chrome Hearts stores in New York; Aoyama, Japan; and London. It's also available at Mikimoto flagship stores in Tokyo, New York, and Hong Kong.
This collaboration was apparently years in the making. Jesse Jo Stark, daughter of Chrome Hearts founders Richard and Laurie Lynn Stark, had always loved pearl jewelry. Her father once told her, per a press release, "If it's pearls, it has to be Mikimoto." An introduction happened soon after, and Chrome Hearts started laying the foundation for its forthcoming collaboration with the Japanese label founded in 1893.
This collaboration introduces an elegance to Chrome Hearts' typical edginess, combining Mikimoto’s iconic cultured pearls with the Los Angeles-based brand's bold, artistic motifs.
