Enamored by the Scottish landscape and velvety star-studded nights, Gabrielle Chanel found inspiration in the cozy embrace of tweed. This warm, comfortable textile became her muse, thanks in part to her love affair with the Duke of Westminster. Nearly 100 years later, the Director of the Chanel Fine Jewelry Creation Studio, Patrice Leguéreau, is similarly inspired by the alluring fabric. Creating 64 new High Jewelry pieces for 2023, he envisioned intricate masterpieces featuring embroidery, fringe, lacework, and an abundance of details in gold and platinum that evoke the essence of tweed, adorned with diamonds, pearls, sapphires, and other precious stones.
