After almost two weeks of historic red carpets, highly-anticipated film premieres, and ultra-chic fashion moments, the 2024 Cannes Film Festival has come to a close. 

Ahead of the closing ceremony, actors, directors, and pop culture icons strode down the red carpet for one final procession. In keeping with the spirit of closing ceremonies prior, celebrities brought their very best looks, ranging from Greta Gerwig and Demi Moore's striking all-black Celine gowns to Joey King and Elle Fanning's dreamy butter yellow frocks. Meanwhile, Simone Ashley, beloved Bridgerton actress, stunned on the carpet in a voluminous dip hem dress—a look she completed with a chic slicked-back hairstyle, diamond drop earrings, and a matching necklace. 

While the red carpet segment was no doubt a highlight of the evening for fashion aficionados, many stars on the ground in the French Riviera were eagerly awaiting the unveiling of this year's Palme d'Or winner. With films like the Demi Moore-led horror project, Substance, Emilia Perez—fronted by Selena Gomez, Zoe Saldana, Adriana Paz, and Karla Sofia Gascon—and Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis up for the win, all eyes were on the awards ceremony. Ultimately, Anora, the gritty drama directed by Sean Baker, took home the prestigious Palme d'Or. 

“We really led with our hearts for everything we watched,” said Gerwig, 2024 Cannes Film Festival Jury President, during the ceremony. "It was an embarrassment of riches this year in terms of cinema, we could have been talking into next week.” On the winning title, Gerwig added: “There was something that reminded us of a classic, there were structures of Lubitsch and Howard Hawks. It did something truthful and unexpected."
