Juana Burga Takes Us Inside the 26th Annual Cannes amfAR Gala
Every spring, the glittering destination of Cannes shines a little bit brighter thanks to the arrival of the annual Cannes Film Festival. For 11 days, the French Riviera gets taken over by directors, actresses, models and other members of the global glitterati. While each day is jam-packed with movie premieres, cocktails and more, but among all of them one has persisted as the festival's crown jewel: amfAR Gala Cannes, which benefits amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research.
Though our invitation seemed to have gotten lost in the mail, we did manage to get the 411 on all the delicious details of the evening thanks to our friend, Peruvian model, and actress Juana Burga. Burga is no stranger to the red carpet, so when the opportunity to accompany her as she prepared for the gala arrived, we instantly jumped at the chance. Clad in a gorgeous black tulle ensemble by Ashi Studio, she was easily one of the best-dressed beauties of the night. Relive all the delicious French Riviera-glamour, as told by Burga, below. WE HAVE ARRIVED
I arrived in Cannes the day of amfAR straight from Paris where I was shooting with L’Officiel Paris for a special upcoming project. Nothing better than sunbathing before the craziness of the festival.
TIME FOR MAKEUP
I got ready last minute but thanks to my amazing glam team led by Damian Garrozo, my stylist Wil Ariyamethe, and my publicist Remi Barbier. It takes a village but if you are surrounded by the people you trust, everything usually goes well!
My dress is Ashi Couture. I’m wearing Rene Capvilla shoes. Wearing my lucky émeraude jewelry, I wanted to keep the look strong and not overdress myself with a river of diamonds.

Fitting time! The corset of the dress is fitting me perfectly.

Latina power! Eva is my inspiration and I look up to her as an actress and philanthropist! She is amazing. We have each done several projects for L’Oréal but haven't had the opportunity to work together. A dream of course!! It was great to be with her last night.

The amfAR gala was an incredible experience! Glamorous!
