BVLGARI Opens Newest Exhibition in Rome
This Tuesday, June 25, Bvlgari unveiled its newest exhibition at Castel Sant’Angelo and Palazzo Venezia, a retrospective following the evolution of the house from a modest factory to a global brand. The exhibition, in collaboration with Polo Museale del Lazio, directed by Edith Gabrielli, and curated by business historian Chiara Ottaviano, features over 170 jewels and 80 custom dresses from the private collection of Cecilia Matteucci Lavarini. The pieces offer a rich contextual backdrop to Italian fashion and culture from period to period. Beyond the jewels, archival photographs, vintage footage, historical perspective and society pages round out the portrait of Bvlgari’s storied history.
Bvlgari has been a leading luxury brand ever since Sotirio Bulgari arrived in Rome in the late 19th century. At the launch, heads of the historic house, including CEO Jean-Christophe Babin, gave a press conference. Carey Mulligan, Daniel Lismore, and Carlota Bulgari were among those in attendance on opening night, receiving a full tour of the exhibition and enjoying a cocktail party complete with fireworks that evening. The exhibition is on view now through November 3.
