The current Creative Director of Chanel Virginie Viard dazzled with a unique show inspired by the '20s and '30s.

The creative mind behind the luxury brand certainly doesn't work alone. In collaboration with the French contemporary artist, Xavier Veilhan, musician/singer/composer S&eacute;bastien Tellier, and Monaco heiress and Chanel ambassador Charlotte Casiraghi, a common creative dialogue was achieved, resulting in an exciting presentation of the Maison's <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/chanel-spring-summer-2022-haute-couture-virginie-viard-fashion-week" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Spring/Summer 2022 Haute Couture</a> collection.

Inspired by constructivism, Veilhan and Viard created a visual universe for the Spring/Summer 2022 Haute Couture show, which took place at the Grand Palais &Eacute;ph&eacute;m&egrave;re. This is the first time that the brand has left the staging of a show in the hands of a contemporary artist. The scenery was part garden, part landscape, and part open stage, mixed with elements dear to the artist, such as architecture and the equestrian essence, helping emphasize the silhouettes of the collection.

&quot;The concept that I suggested to Virginie is a kind of garden, an open structure, something that has to do with a miniature golf course as well as a show jumping circuit for horses. (...) [Haute Couture] is a form of radicalism [...] that really interests me&quot;, Xavier Veilhan.

From pearly white to pink and cream colors, all the while incorporating different textile techniques such as embroidery and macram&eacute;, Chanel was able to create garments characterized by geometry, contrast, lightness, and a lot of freshness. "Ethereal dresses that float as if suspended," said Viard.
The parade began with the impressive appearance of Charlotte Casiraghi, who rode in on a horse while wearing a black tweed jacket with sequins. Then, the Maison presented its new proposal that brought with it slits, wide pants, jackets without lapels, pastel tones, and dresses with rhinestones included. Monochromatic sets that undoubtedly included new shades, drama, and much more brightness, but always maintaining their main essence.
