Earlier this month, Chanel hosted its Resort 2022 fashion show full of stylish garments blending modern classics with punk rebellion. Creative Director Virginie Viard imbued some of Coco Chanel's classic creative codes with elements of grunge and rock style. The models wore collars with pearls and earrings on their lips while punk makeup and hairstyles emphasized their fierce facades. Viard also paired mesh tights with the brand's classic two-tone shoes and decorated the famous quilted handbags with chain straps sporting abundant pearl and metal accoutrements. Overall, the collection furthered Viard's punk reimagination of the Maison's decidedly French style, offering an alternative vision of the standard bourgeois wardrobe.
