Musier Founder Anne Laure Mais Reveals Her Ideal 2021 Christmas
The design superstar behind the ultra-Parisian brand Musier indulged in a Q&A game for L'OFFICIEL.
Influencer, founder, and creative director Anne Laure Mais is the Parisian It Girl of our dreams. Her brand Musier is now one of the most sought-after for women looking to be très mignon. What began as a hobby, blogging on the side, Mais is an inspiration to fashionistas worldwide, with her clothing donning celebrities such as Bella Hadid and Kaia Gerber.
The cult-favorite phenom recently sat down with L'OFFICIEL to discuss her upcoming holiday plans, and play a little game of Q&A.
L'OFFICIEL: What is your fondest Christmas memory?
Anne Laure Mais: When I still believed in Santa Claus….
L'O: What will you wear on Christmas Eve?
ALM: I don't make any special effort for Christmas, I opt more for classics: jeans or high-waisted pants and a small blouse for example. I think I'll wear the Illa pants with a silk blouse and the Poppy Musier boots.
L'O: The ideal Parisian Musier piece to celebrate Christmas?
ALM: Our pleated pants (the gray or the brown model.) They are super comfortable and make a very chic silhouette.
L'O: A smell that reminds you of Christmas?
ALM: Tiramisu. It's a smell that transports me to the holiday season. I remember my grandparents making them in the fireplace.
L'O: The colorful theme of your Christmas decoration?
ALM: For the Christmas tree it's red, white, and gold—and in general, the decoration is quite light here. I like to bring warmth with candles or fairy lights. As for the table, the tablecloth is always white, with touches of red and gold in there too.
L'O: What will your Christmas meal be?
Anne Laure Mais: It's pretty classic in my family, whether it's on my husband's side or mine. There are oysters as a starter and then stuffed poultry as the main course. A frozen log for dessert.
L'O: Your dream guests for a perfect Christmas table?
ALM: My whole family, with all the children. Usually, we do dinner on the evening of the 24th with my family, then on the 25th at my husband's. My brother and my sister also alternate, we are not always there altogether. If we go to a more professional dinner, I will invite all the muses, those who have supported us since our beginnings—without forgetting our last muse Erin Wasson.
L'O: What gift would you like to receive this year?
ALM: I have a pretty long wishlist to tell you everything but maybe a decorative piece for our new home like the Ekstrem armchair by Terje Ekstrom, a Platner armchair for Knoll, or the Lampada Cappello lamp by Oscar Piccolo.
L'O: Your New Year's Eve beauty look?
ALM: Again, I don't make a lot of effort, I stay fairly classic. A beautiful complexion with Luminous Silk by Armani, then a small line of eyeliner, and a matte mouth with Forever Liquid by Dior in shade 100.
L'O: What are some values linked to this celebration that you think are important to pass on?
ALM: Sharing and the family! This year is quite special since it will be the first Christmas with my daughter. I'm looking forward to it!
