8 Designers Who Sent Animals Down the Runway
From the bunny rabbits at Gucci's most recent runway to puppies and dogs at Tod's and Moncler, here are all of the luxury names that have featured animals on the catwalk.
Animals have always played a fundamental role in the life of designers. Some of them went so far as to let them participate in their fashion shows. Dogs, horses, parrots, chameleons, deer, rabbits, and fantastical animals have been featured alongside the models on the runway of a number of designers.
While horses triumphed during the Parisian Haute Couture week, we continue to see animals as protagonists of the catwalks. At Tod's, models carried puppy dogs, like Gigi Hadid, who had a French Bulldog companion. Then, in Celine's recent digital presentation, Hedi Slimane had a deer make a cameo. During the Gucci Aria fashion film, in which Alessandro Michele co-opted Balenciaga's logo for the 100th anniversary of the brand, a model came out with a white rabbit. Previously at Gucci, we have also seen reproductions of parrots, chameleons, and fantastic animals such as baby dragons.
