Next month, it will be two years since the last Met Gala. However, fashion lovers around the world will be happy to hear that the dry spell of fantastical formalwear and artistic constructions will soon be over as the 2021 Met Gala is already set for September 13, per a source at Page Six. The insider also revealed that President Biden's inaugural poet, 23-year-old Amanda Gorman, and fashion designer Tom Ford are being considered for hosts of this year's festivities.

Gorman made a name for herself at the presidential inauguration turned fashion show earlier this year when she recited her original poem "The Hill We Climb." She arrived in a bright canary yellow coat and striking red headband, both courtesy of Prada. Her style has been well documented enough to earn her a spot as the only new face on the 2020 International Best-Dressed List by Air Mail.

While no details—like hosts or a theme—have been officially confirmed for this year's festivities, Gorman has a proven relationship with Vogue as she is the magazine's May 2021 cover star. While Fashion's Night Out is typically reserved for the first Monday of May, the event has been postponed for late summer due to the coronavirus pandemic. According to the source, the intention would have been to hold the event on the first Monday of September, but that's already claimed by Labor Day. Says the insider, "Even Anna Wintour can’t change a federal holiday."
