Acne Studios Fall 2018

For the first time, Acne Studios merged its pre-fall collection with its main collection to show during couture week. Creative director Jonny Johansson showcased a collection that featured dreamy scarfs, oversized silhouettes, and cult-worthy bags to fit all your essentials. Below, our show notes for the collection.

Memorable piece —

Look 7, a pastel embellished slip dress worn over a translucent long-sleeved tee, with a long scarf and glasses.

Remarkable fabric —

The silk floral pleated dresses and tops seen throughout the collection. The pleats were cut so that they had raw edges.

Best accessory —

The long scarves that had a refreshingly boho vibe. As models walked, they trailed off behind them in the most elegant way. Also, the supersized soft leather bags in natural tones, which models carried in the nook of their elbows.

Collection inspiration —

According to Johansson, “I’ve always been inspired by those who make the active choice to live away from the city. It’s amazing to see creative people gain clarity of mind when they escape. This is about their wardrobe, which evolves to be its own language.”

Front row celebs –

Juliette Lewis, Sara Forestier, Isabelle Huppert, Stephen Jones, and Michel Gaubert.

Potential trend —

Belted coats. The collection had many of them in all different shapes, silhouettes, sizes, materials, and colors—from a simply belted white knee-length option to a loosely cut lilac blazer.
