The Chicest 2023 Met Gala After-Party Looks
The fashion statements didn't end once the celebrities were off the red carpet.
Last night was a Met Gala like no other. Fashion's biggest night is always met with much anticipation, but the 2023 Met Gala really surpassed expectations. With this year's theme being "In Honor of Karl," there were many questions about what celebrities would show up wearing. Most speculated that there would be a lot of vintage pieces pulled from Lagerfeld-era Chanel and Fendi designs. Others brought up the possibility of stars taking a literal approach and presenting full-on Lagerfeld cosplay. As the night saw, no amount of guesses could have prepared us for what unfolded.
Doja Cat made her Met Gala debut as she walked the red carpet in custom Oscar De La Renta dressed as an actual cat. Rihanna arrived at the Met Gala fashionably late and was a show-stopper in her bridal-inspired custom Valentino gown. Michelle Yeoh was the epitome of elegance as she posed on the Met steps in a voluminous white and black gown. Cara Delevigne, an obvious celebrity to receive an invite this year considering her close relationship with the German designer, interpreted the theme by opting for a white mini dress from Lagerfeld's eponymous label.
Proving that the night isn't over once the gala is complete, celebrities showed off their best looks while partying the night away at the Met Gala afterparties. From Kendall Jenner's sheer bodysuit and black thong to Kylie Jenner's take on the little black dress, the stars understood the assignment and delivered what they needed on the fashion front while enjoying the night at their post-Met Gala festivities.
