You're Invited: Louis Vuitton Men's Fall 2019
Louis Vuitton will be honoring the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, this Thursday, as Virgil Abloh presents his second collection for the storied French fashion house. Last season, Abloh referenced the iconic American film The Wizard of Oz, as models paraded down a rainbow runway, wearing sweaters and parkas that referenced the infamous yellow brick road and fields of poppies. In lieu of sending out traditional, enveloped invitations, Abloh commissioned elegant white leather gloves encrusted with silver crystals, emulating Jackson's infamous accessory which he wore on his left hand for his debut television performance of "Billy Jean," in honor of Motown's 25th anniversary in 1983.
“When I have Michael singing in the background, it’s a different type of shirt, it’s a different kind of boot, it’s a different fit of pants," Abloh once told Interview. "Music is key.”
