Designers Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia had guests out past their bedtimes on a Monday night in order to witness the Oscar de la Renta Fall 2020 show, but what they had in store was nothing short of a fashion dream. Those in attendance trekked to the New York Public Library to see just what the iconic label was up to this season, and none were left disappointed as the designers executed a collection made to produce sheer joy. Bright colors bounced, sequins shined, and the array of eveningwear left a note of magic in the air. Mich Cardin captured it all from an intimate view—read on to see all the images and learn more about the details behind the stunning show.

For Kim and Garcia, staying true to the Oscar de la Renta brand must be as easy as breathing at this point. The duo started their relationship with the house as design interns, grew under de la Renta himself, and only left for a short time to found Monse. Monday night's show illustrated this to a T as countless awards-season-worthy dresses came down the library halls. Opening and closing the show was Bella Hadid, who seems to hold a secret sauce for creating a memorable runway moment this week as she also modeled key looks at Brandon Maxwell and Khaite.

The separates in the collection took a "more is more" approach with color-blocked looks, while bold prints and floral patterns adorned coats, dresses, and pants. Luxurious eveningwear, most notably a version of Scarlett Johansson's recent Oscars dress, wowed the audience alongside maximalist adornments such as voluminous ruffles, gilded feathers, and firework-like embroidered motifs.

Faces and phones lit up as the last few looks incorporated copious amounts of feathers and metallic fringe that created showstopping movement and drama with every step. The finale look, a hot pink cape and hood of full-blown feathers on Hadid, was the cherry on top of an energetic collection.
