Loewe Reimagines the Fashion Show (Again) With A Show in the News
"The Loewe Show has Been Canceled" headlines Loewe's A Show in the News. After experimenting with a show in a box and a show on the wall, Jonathan Anderson collaborates with the M/M Paris team again to present the Fall Winter 2021 women's collection in the format of a newspaper. "Dear reader, the Loewe show has been canceled, but our lives continue. We're just living in a different context and we have to move on, whatever happens. The show is the news, and it's in the news. Coming directly to you in the your everyday life and ideally enjoyed with a morning cup of coffee. I hope you enjoy browsing these pages and that they bring you all the energy we put into creating them," the British creative director says. Loewe's new collection comes to life in print, with images of Freja Beha Erichsen taken by Fumiko Imano. To make it official, Le Figaro and Le Monde in France, El Mundo in Spain, The Times in London, The New York Times in the U.S., and The Asahi Shimbun in Japan include an attachment of Loewe's show on the day it was intended to premiere at Paris Fashion Week.
Along with the newspaper, the images, the paper cutters, and the leather mat, the Show In the News format also contains an excerpt from the new book The Affair by writer Danielle Steel. For the new collection, Anderson picks up saturated and vibrant colors in colorblock combinations emphasized by bold volumes and silhouettes, a hallmark of his creative direction. Sculptural and three-dimensional looks are developed with soft materials. Psychedelic graphic prints, wool cut-out sweaters worn with leather bustiers and balloon pants, and platform moccasins in calfskin all stand out. The outerwear of the Loewe Fall Winter 2021 women's collection is structured with viscose parkas, military cotton jackets, pleated trench coats, oversized jackets, and coats in wool and cashmere. To accompany the looks of the Spanish fashion house, handbags like the Goya in calfskin and silk, the Clutch Flamenco, the Puzzle Edge, and the return of the Amazona highlight its luxe leather goods.
