Nicholas Ghesquière has never been afraid to take a leap. From reinvigorating Louis Vuitton's look to the Belle Époque, Ghesquière’s trajectory has been reaching for the best, and his success has not gone unnoticed.

During the Maison's Spring/Summer 2023 show, Ghesquière brought a spectacle to the center of the Louvre. Internationally acclaimed French artist Philippe Parent, known for his conceptual works and ambitious sculptures and installations, joined forces with producer James Chinlund to conceptualize the spectacular design, a “monster flower” with vividly red, multi-layered petals and gold stamen that rise up into the Parisian sky.

The futuristic, flashy, and electrifying show followed the Maison’s ethos, putting femininity in the spotlight. The Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2023 collection reevaluates the proportions of clothing where the infinitely large and the infinitely small come together in one silhouette. Exaggerated zippers and buckles, oversized straps, and an oversized Louis Vuitton tag bag in contrast with miniaturized bags were the theme of this season.

Ghesquière highlighted the DNA of the Maison where the collection zooms in on the codes of the house, such as padlocks, buckles, zippers, rivets, and more, paying homage to the French luxury House’s exquisite hardware details.
