See the Highlights From the Christian Dior Spring/Summer 2022 Haute Couture Show
Christian Dior’s Spring/Summer 2022 Haute Couture show at Paris Fashion Week is a breath taking homage to the movement found in Haute Couture pieces. In her designing of this collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri set out to explore the interaction between decorative details and the human body.
Referencing her last Haute Couture collection, Chiuri continued her focus on embroidery. Chiuri created pieces that cause an interaction with the body and the space around it; her intricately embroidered tights shone in every direction with each step. The embroidery seen frequently throughout the collection was able to both serve as a reminder to viewers of some of the house’s signature styles while also bringing those styles into the present. In true Dior fashion, the beauty is in the details—the intricate embroidery seen here could truly only be found in Dior Haute Couture.
Silver lamé fabrics, white silhouette-grazing capes, and pleated skirts also brought focus to the interplay between clothing, body, and movement. It seemed as though the models were merely floating down the runway—the clothes were a natural extension of the body.
