Dior’s latest collection displayed a beautifully crafted series of power suits, double-breasted tan trench coats, and tailored sets, marking a collection created to iconize Miss Dior. Conceived in 1967 by Philippe Guibourgé, the right-hand man to former Creative Director Marc Bohan, the Miss Dior line strived to make the House of Dior accessible and appealing to younger customers. The affordable sub-label thus achieved Christian Dior’s goal of bringing the Dior brand to every woman.

Showcased around Artist Shakuntala Kulkarni’s installation that celebrates the feminine figure, the ensembles featured numerous khaki-colored suits, head-to-toe black looks that are often synonymous with French fashion, and lettered designs that mimic a painted-on look. Many looks also featured a synched waist, a classic silhouette to Dior’s brand, as well as silky and shimmering evening attire adding an extra layer of glamour to the collection. With these designs, Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri celebrates the iconic Miss Dior line and a way of dressing that resonates with many women.

The looks that proved particularly eye-catching were the '20s-inspired flapper looks and the beautifully made shapeless evening dresses. While the collection was made to commemorate '60s style, the '20s had a big influence on 1960s dressing, which explains the loosely shaped shift silhouettes and opulent glamour that define both époques. With this Fall/Winter 2024 collection, Chiuri reignited designs that define Christian Dior's purpose and spirit.
