Suede, Fur Coats, and Neckties Rule in Copenhagen Fashion Week Street Style
Showgoers are stealing the spotlight thanks to their sophisticated use of accessories, from corporate-feeling ties to textured outerwear.
The main fashion circuit may be just over a week away, but Copenhagen Fashion Week is kicking off the more than month-long ordeal in style. Monday marked the first day of Fall/Winter 2025 shows in the Danish city, and although the runways are the main event, street style is always something to pay keen attention to.
The gloomy weather didn't stop attendees from bringing their fashion A-game to the start of fashion week. This season, showgoers set trends especially in the accessories department. They donned neckties, some tied tightly around the collar and others loosely slouched around the neckline, making a case for ties as one of the year's hottest accessories. Street style stars also played with texture, often opting for touches of suede and cozy fur coats.
Beyond the main trends we noticed in street style during the first day of Copenhagen Fashion Week, there were some clear runners-up, and they all seemed to lean into a form of maximalism. Soft and cozy hats, like balaclavas and aviator hats, are other major accessories that seem to be poised to dominate the streets as CPHFW continues. These headpieces, ideal for colder weather, make an even louder statement than the typical beanie, for example. Charms on bags have been trending over recent seasons, and that held true in Copenhagen, as some looped several trinkets and keychains into the their handbag handles.
