Sacred and sensual, ancient and modern, immortal and spectacular, historical and alive. This is Naples, hometown of Chanel's creative makeup director, Lucia Pica, who has just unleashed the house's new Spring 2018 makeup line. The name, Neapolis, translates to "New City," reflects the origins of a former Greek colony and now modern vibrant city.

"Romantic and fun, something new inspired by something ancient, that is the true essence of Naples" - Lucia Pica

The color palette of green, yellow, gold, red, and black of the collection represent the essence of the city: the natural environment, the volcanic landscape of Vesuvius and the Phlegrean Fields, the architectural and artistic style like the frescoes of Villa Popea and the decoration of the churches with Caravaggio paintings. The old city has a feminine power of attraction that is part of the brand and, of course, its creator, Gabrielle Chanel.

"All the elements of Naples are here." says Lucia Pica. "My wish is for women to play spontaneously with colors ... what tones are easily adapted to create a subtle effect or a more intense tone".
