Augustinus Bader's CEO Talks the Brand's New Supplements

Augustinus Bader, an authority on regenerative medicine and co-founder of the cult beauty brand, launches a line of breakthrough supplements.

Not even three years have passed since the launch of Augustinus Bader's hero product, The Cream, yet the brand has managed to build a cult reputation, entering the very small circle of big players at the forefront of transformative beauty. Subsequent launches have consolidated its notoriety, and now it's time for food supplements. L'OFFICIEL discusses the matter with CEO Charles Rosier, the French financier who managed to persuade Professor Augustinus Bader, renowned for his research in the field of stem cells and regenerative medicine, to venture into the cosmetic field with the thirty-year research that had allowed him to invent a very effective gel in healing third-degree burns which acted by signaling the stem cells of the skin to generate new tissues.

L'OFFICIEL: The food supplements market is growing exponentially, with excellent launches such as Holistic Health by Clinique La Prairie. What characterizes your line?

Charles Rosier: Every time we put a product on the market, we decide it on the basis of clinical results: in order to launch it, we expect it to produce a significant improvement. The research involved a network of regenerative medicine experts coordinated by Dr. Shibashish Giri. Each dose of The Skin contains 25 billion probiotic microbes in order to create a good microbiome, as well as nutrients destined for the same microbes that thus produce Urolithin A, the only compound known to date that restores the cell's capacity to recycle mitochondria. The delivery system is fundamental, crucial in favoring the transport to the cells and effective assimilation instead of the simple accumulation in the gastrointestinal system. The Skin acts on the synthesis of collagen, reduces the appearance of discoloration, and prevents the formation of wrinkles. In the future, we will also market other supplements, which are beneficial for the hair, immune system, and quality of sleep.

LO: Can the use in combination with products of other brands weaken/cancel the effectiveness of yours?

CR: We have developed a line to which we continue to add new products (such as the brand new The Eye Cream) to answer the question of those who need a complex beauty routine. Our cosmetics can also be used with other brands, provided that the skin is clean. If you use a serum other than ours before applying the cream you could block the way to TFC8, the trademark complex of amino acids and vitamins that creates the environment optimal for carrying out the physiological processes of repair and regeneration.


LO: Is the vegan reformulation of The Rich Cream the beginning of a process of reformulating all products in this light?

CR: No, we only wanted to recreate our best-selling product with a formula that would answer an important question, especially since there were few components to change after we excluded all suspicious ingredients like silicones and sulfates from the very beginning.
