These New Louis Vuitton Fragrances Capture the Essence of Summer

The Les Colognes collection features three new perfumes that instantly transport you to sunny California.

Picture this: you're sprawled out on the sand of a Californian beach on a warm summer's day, watching the hypnotic dance of the waves ahead and soaking up the sun without a care in the world. In fact, you can do more than picture it; you can smell it in Louis Vuitton's latest fragrance collection, Les Colognes.

The collection introduces three new scents—Sun Song, Cactus Garden, and Afternoon Swim—that take us straight to the West Coast. The perfumes delicately balance the lightness of a citrus mist with the depth of floral scents, something that could only be pulled off by Louis Vuitton's Master Perfumer, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. "I dreamed of creating perfumes with airiness," he says. "I created them with the same respect as great perfumes, with rare and natural raw materials whose qualities are exceptional."

The ingredients in question are, indeed, exceptional. You'll smell the aroma of the orange blossom bursting out of Sun Song, in an unexpected mixture of citron and musks. Cactus Garden gives you a whiff of smoky maté, the beloved tea of South America, before unraveling to threads of bergamot and lemongrass. As you'd expect of a perfume named Afternoon Swim, it's concocted with summery olfactory elements like the Sicily orange, bergamot, and mandarin.

It's only fitting that such a vibrant collection of perfumes comes with a packaging that's just as lively. Los Angeles artist Alex Israel accordingly created artworks that captured the spirit of each scent with pops of color and elements of a summer vacation.
