As the summer breeze whisps away and the fall winds take its place, there’s a call for a fresh haircut in the air. Fall is a perfect time to take your look to another level with a hair transformation. The Fall/Winter 2022 runways already provided a plethora of hair and beauty inspiration to look into. However, adding more insight into these fall hair trends are expert stylists and colorists at Rob Peetoom Williamsburg. For some tips and tricks, L’OFFICIEL connected with Rochelle Peetoom, CEO of Rob Peetoom Salons Global, Master Stylist Adriana Papaleo, and Creative Director Nina Rubel on some fashion-forward hair trends to embrace for this fall season.

The Bob

It’s a classic look that has yet to ever go completely out of style. The bob proves more of a chic hairstyle and can be adapted with various textures and lengths. “The bob hairstyle is very much on trend this Fall, but with many new variations—length, shape, volume, and styling,” Papaleo said. “You can either go shorter with a soft line at jaw length or drop the length to the shoulder. This hairstyle is timeless and great for thicker hair. The versatile styling of a bob always keeps it interesting.”

Warm and Cool Brunettes

Warm and cool shades are nothing new to the fall season, but it’s the mixture of the two that gives it an elevated take. Standout cooler shades to adopt are ones such as espresso and cocoa. For warmer shades, mocha and chocolate are the way to go. Combining warm and cool shades with fluid contouring and smooth highlights provides a perfect way to move into autumn with dimension and easy movement.

Instead of impatiently waiting for the spring season to come around, pastels have made their way into fall. A more playful hair trend to try, colorful shades of sky blue, rose, and lavender are all something to look forward to this season. "Always make sure to consult with your colorist to choose a shade that will compliment your skin tone, complexion, and lifestyle," Rubel said. "Trends come and go but it’s most important to do what feels good for you regardless of what’s 'in.' Be your own trend, make your own rules."

Caramel and Butterscotch

As a toned-down and warmer transition from summer to fall, deeper shades of caramel and butterscotch prove to be a great autumn look. The trend is much more low maintenance and gives your hair a break from the sun and lightened treatments. For an extra tip, Peetoom, Papaleo, and Rubel recommend that you “ask your colorist for a L’Oréal Professional Metal Detox Treatment. Detoxes remove unwanted metals from inside the hair fiber and provide vibrancy, shine, softness, and beautiful color results with 87 percent less breakage.”

Reds and Coppers

For a more vibrant color palette, reds and coppers are the way to go. The hair trend has already been around throughout the year and will continue its reign into fall. Celebrities such as Barbie Ferriera, Gigi Hadid, and SZA have all already sported the look. According to Peetoom, Papaleo, and Rubel, standout shades will be tiger and tangerine for bright coppers and cherry and lava for warmer reds.
