Would You Put an RFID Chip in Your Nails?
Picture a new nail set, colored money green, with... an RFID chip embedded. Would you wear Chillhouse's latest press-ons?
Nails are in a sort of golden age right now, to the intricate work on the hands of icons like Cynthia Erivo to the ever-increasing quality of press-on nails, making it easier and faster to wear a fresh set than ever before. Embedding gems and little trinkets into nail art is nothing new, so would you stop at an RFID chip?
Cash App and New York City-based nail studio Chillhouse have teamed up for a limited-edition set of press-ons, aptly titled Cash in Hand. The partnership features an RFID-enabled press-on nail set that allow you to pay and send money with a literal touch of your finger. Between the trend-forward designs and quality feel and innovative technology, these nails offer the chance to make a statement while making your holiday shopping as seamless as it is chic.
How do they work? Hold your phone near the thumb nail of the set, and the chip technology will automatically open the Cash App payment pad, allowing you to make payments with ease.
“Whether it’s a manicure nail set that opens your Cash App or early access to Sabrina Carpenter tickets, Cash App is committed to bridging the gap between personal finance and culture,” Cash App CMO Catherine Ferdon siaid in a press release. “We strive to meet our customers where they are with moments that surprise and delight them.”
The almond-shaped nails are designed to embody holiday cheer with a touch of futuristic flair, bridging the gap between fashion and fintech. Complete with a Cash App-inspired green gradient complemented by chrome accents and a translucent, glittery finish, these tips are perfect for parties this season, while staying ahead of the tech curve. Splitting the brunch bill or sending a holiday gift? Now, your manicure can handle that.
The Cash in Hand Chill nail set is available to shop for $18 at Chillhouse. To sweeten the deal, Cash App customers can enjoy half off (up to $20) on any purchase from Chillhouse's website when they pay with their Cash App Card through Christmas Day, while supplies last.
