Cardi B is stepping into the cosmetics world with her own hair care brand. The famous rapper says she was inspired to launch her own line of hair products after receiving critical comments on a video she posted about her natural hair. Cardi wrote on Instagram, "This year I will be coming out with a hairline that I been working on at home for my hair and my daughter's however, I think is time for people to educate themselves on nationality, race, and ethnicity. Being Hispanic/Latina don’t make your hair long, don’t make your skin light, or don’t make your face features slim specially Latin countries from the Caribbean islands. Dna have something to do with your hair not your nationality but guess what you can always maintain your hair.....and one more things not everyone that speaks Spanish is Mexican"

The "Up" singer stated in a tweet: "Hair texture def don’t make you a race however I am Afro-Latina."

While details on the hair care products have yet to be shared, Cardi already gave a glimpse into her hair routine last year. She shared an at-home recipe for a hair mask made with avocado, argan oil, mayonnaise, black castor oil, olive oil, two eggs, honey, and banana.

The star's decision brings to mind other celebrities who have launched their own hair products, like Tracee Ellis Ross—who launched Pattern Beauty in 2019—and Rihanna, who has an upcoming Fenty Hair line.
