It's okay to admit you went through a phase some years ago where you may have overdone it on the black eyeshadow. Maybe you wore a choker or refused to smile in photos; maybe you refused to wear any color nail polish but "Wicked" by Essie. Whatever it may have been, now's the season to revisit your goth phase in a whole new light. Our tans have faded, and it's dark at 4 p.m., but we're not too sad about it because with the fall season comes the time to embrace your inner witch.

Like Jenny in Gossip Girl or Jane in Breaking Bad, these women embraced darker beauty looks, and were stunning while doing so. And though it's no longer 2010 and their exact looks may not be what you're attempting when getting ready this fall, there are products out there making the goth look chic for 2024. Recently, Tish Weinstock, the Beauty Director at System Magazine and Contributing Editor at British Vogue, published a book titled How To Be A Goth, billed as a "celebration of darkness" as she traces the history of the witchy woman.

From a deep plum lip to a dark kohl liner, these are the best products to shop for during the season of the witch.

Mac Satin Lipstick in Blackened Purple

Nothing screams witch season like a deep plum-colored lip. This one from Mac is hydrating while remaining intact for hours on end. It's a little more intense than looking like you took a bite out of a plum, but for our readers who are not afraid to embrace a vampire-esque look, this is the product for you.

Mac M·A·CXIMAL Sleek Satin Lipstick in 'Blackened Purple,' $25, Mac

Westman Atelier Kohl Eyeliner

A quintessential element of the witchy look is dark, smudgy kohl eyeliner. We love this one by Westman Atelier, as it's the perfect black and gives you a smudged look without moving all over your face throughout the night. Channel your inner Gabriette with a dark and stormy eye look this fall.

Chanel Nail Polish in Rouge Noir

If your full goth phase is behind you, the black nail polish might not cut it anymore. We've found the next best shade, Chanel's 'Rouge Noir,' formerly titled 'Vamp.' It's sexy and gloomy, perfect for a matured goth. This is a luxurious polish that you may find yourself reaching for even after the season of the witch has passed.

Chanel Les Vernis Longwear Nail Color in 'Rouge Noir,' $32, Chanel

Natasha Denona Eyeshadow Palette

The perfect smoky eye often requires the perfect palette, and this one by Natasha Denona is ideal for those who gravitate towards cooler tones. These five shades may be all you need when doing your makeup for a night out this fall season. Matte black and metallic silver are a match made in heaven for a refined goth look, and this palette does both of them perfectly.

KVD Beauty Super Pomade

Could we even run a story on goth-inspired makeup without mentioning Kat Von D? There is a reason why this KVD Beauty pomade is called "super," as you can use it on your eyes, cheeks, and lips. For a witchy look, we like the shade 'Aubergine,' as it adds the perfect cool tone to the face, eyes, and lips. Use this product to recreate the iconic Taylor Momsen look above, or rub a little on the apples of your cheeks for a subtle flush.
