Helmut Newton's Private Collection Goes on Display in New York

The collection features rare photographs of Gianni Versace, Andy Warhol, and Paloma Picasso.

He had a flair for erotic black and white photos, naked models and S&M-inspired shoots. As the "King of Kink,” the more controversial, the better.

The Guy Regal Gallery compiled 33 of the late, great Helmut Newton's rarest and most iconic photographs, which include a naked portrait of Gianni Versace, Paloma Picasso in 1978 Paris, and even the surrealist artist, Salvador Dali. 

“At a time where issues of women’s empowerment and equality in the LGBTQ communities are paramount, what stands out in this collection is how Helmut Newton imbued his subjects with strength, dignity, and power,” said art curator Guy Regal according to i-D.

Naked with a Fur opened yesterday on 49 Chambers street, and will move to The New York Design Center (200 Lexington Avenue) on January 29 until March 2. Another must to check off our bucket list.
