Imagine this: you're in seventh grade and it's the last day of school. You're counting down the seconds until that final bell rings. Once you hear it, visions of the next few months fill your mind—pool days, popsicles, and lots of rest.

Fast forward to today, and you're a grown adult burnt out from work and responsibilities. But it doesn't have to be that way. Whether you're looking for a staycation or a week-long getaway, there's an abundance of new hotels opening this summer and fall. Take a look at nine hotels guaranteed to give you the summer you deserve.  

The Ritz-Carlton, NoMad in NYC

The Ritz-Carlton is opening a new hotel perfect for those traveling from afar to visit the concrete jungle where dreams are made of, or for those who already breathe the hustle and bustle of New York City daily but want a staycation. The 250-key hotel, at Broadway and 28th Street will be opening in July of this year. On top of the luxurious experience that The Ritz-Carlton guarantees, visitors can experience a variety of amenities including restaurants and bars by Michelin-starred chef José Andrés—including a rooftop bar with spectacular views of the city—a 6,800 sq ft Ritz-Carlton Spa and Fitness Center, and event spaces for rent. And did I mention that the spa will be partnering with Augustinus Bader? From scrumptious food to lush facials, after a trip to The Ritz-Carlton, you’ll be rejuvenated both inside and out.

Canoe Place in The Hamptons

Not feeling a city vacation and want something a bit quieter? Try Canoe Place, located in Hamptons Bay, Long Island, and often heralded as the “First Stop out East." Even though Canoe Place has been around since the 17th century, the newly restored property will offer an effortless blend of both history and luxury. Not only are there 20 guest rooms and five guest cottages, but there are also multiple restaurants, tailored to each season, with fresh and locally sourced ingredients. Opening in August 2022, Canoe Place can offer you a fresh breath of seaside air.

While this isn't technically a hotel, it is a must-visit destination this summer—a culinary destination. Located at Pier 17, and where the original Fulton Fish Market was, Tin Building, per their website, will incorporate 18 restaurants, bars, and places to grab food quickly, as well as retail stores with various food items for sale. The 53,000-square-foot marketplace will quickly become a necessary go-to for foodies alike. 

Waldorf Astoria in Cancun

With 173 rooms, the new Waldorf Astoria resort opening in fall 2022 is the perfect getaway for some R&R. With ocean views, private balconies, fitness facilities, and of course, a spa, there is something for everybody. And whether you're in the mood for freshly caught seafood or a traditional Mexican, the resort has three different dining options that surely will satisfy your cravings.

Want to enjoy views of the Empire State building while eating Italian food and immersing yourself in a historical setting? Then the Ned NoMad is for you. The hotel has multiple perks. One is good food, like at the Italian restaurant Cecconi's. Additionally, there also is an option to join a member's club at The Ned NoMad. With places to gather like Ned's Club and The Library, a workspace turned bar at night, you'll never be bored. The Ned NoMad is now open—today. 

Raffles London at the OWO

The Old War Office in London is turning into a hotel. Opening near the end of 2022, the hotel is expected to have 120 rooms and 85 residences, per Raffles Hotels and Resorts. But that's not all. There will also be 11 (yes, 11) different restaurants and bars at the hotel, along with a spa, a vitality pool, and more, according to the Raffles Hotels and Resorts website.

Portrait Milan

Want a vacation with fashion as a focus? Milan is the place for you. And you're in luck. In December 2022, Lungarno Collection, the Ferragamo family’s hotel group, is opening a new hotel in Milan, per their website. Instead of a traditional building, the hotel is actually moving into one of the world's oldest seminaries: the former Archiepiscopal Seminary. And according to the website, "The huge building will also host restaurants, a shopping arcade and plenty of space for events, making it a major lifestyle hub in the heart of Milan’s fashion district."

Nolinski Venezia

While this Venice hotel does not have an official opening date yet, it's still one to keep on your radar. Want to stay in a hotel that offers the same charm and charisma as said city? Nolinski hotels do just that. "With eclectic décor that is specific to each city where it is located, Nolinski plays with styles to blend into its environment elegantly, alternating majestic spaces with secret areas," per their website. The hotel brand, with another location in Paris, is also set to include the Palais Royal Restaurant—a Michelin-star restaurant with menus by Philip Chronopoulos. 

Aman New York

After opening in August, Aman New York is officially accepting guests. According to the website, with three floors of amenities dedicated to relaxing—including an indoor pool with daybeds (time to break out your new monokini)—two restaurants (Italian-inspired cuisine at Arva and Japanese-inspired cuisine at Nama), and fireplaces in each suite, Aman is a safe haven from the hustle of daily life. Over 22 residences are also available for purchase.

RH Guesthouse New York

Opening this September, the RH Guesthouse is bringing comfort and luxury to the center of the Meatpacking District. Meant to be a home away from home, the recently restored triangular loft houses six guestrooms, three suites, and one full-floor residence. What's a luxury stay without scenic views? Guests will have access to the private rooftop, which contains the infinity pool and dining terrace. Along with basking in your privacy, guests will also be privy to some of the best fine dining options—The Dining Room and The Champagne and Caviar Bar.
